About us
SantaBrief began with a childhood memory and with the letters I now write for my own children.
When I was little, my parents wrote me magical winter letters. I still remember holding the envelope and being completely overjoyed. Someone had been thinking just about me. To me, it was pure magic.
Now I have a son and a daughter of my own, and they get magical winter letters too. I write them myself, and watching their faces as they open the envelope is one of my favourite moments of the whole year.
At some point I wanted to do it properly, the way I think it should be done: a beautiful envelope, good paper, a wax seal. And more than one language, because so many families in Europe live between two or three. A child should be able to read their letter in the language their bedtime stories are told in.
SantaBrief is a small family business. We print the letters ourselves and take them to the post ourselves. You read the first draft at your own pace and change any sentence that doesn't sound like your family.
One thing matters to me more than anything: our letters never promise a present and never make Christmas depend on good behaviour. I know from my own children what Christmas morning feels like when you are small. A letter should lift a child up and show them that someone sees them just as they are.
With love, the family behind SantaBrief
